BACTERIA are an essential part of the nitrogen cycle (the biochemical process in which organic matter is broken down into it's basic components to be recycled into the environment). Without bacteria, ponds would rapidly turn into pools of green slime where no fish or plants would survive.
Although bacteria are present in all ponds, adequate quantities of the most effective bacteria are not always present when they're needed the most. By supplementing with a bacterial enzymatic product, it is often possible to solve algae problems and eliminate excess organic matter that collects at the pond bottom.
