Aquatic planting media is an aquatic plant soil comprised of a unique blend of natural minerals, including zeolite, which provides a clean, easy to use planting media for water gardeners. Aquatic planting media securely holds the plants in the pot so plants can form a strong root system. With the addition of zeolite, Aquatic planting media has the added benefit of high nutrient holding capacity. Zeolite isa naturally occurring mineral having a honeycomb like layered crystal structure. The zeolite acts as a reservoir for nutrients which ar slowly released as needed by the plant. Aquatic planting media traps and holds nutrients from aquatic fertilizer tablets that otherwise could leach into the pond. Aquatic planting media will also remove nutrients from the pond water, concentrating them in the root zone for uptake by the plants. Aquatic planting media is recommended for all potted aquatic plants such as water lilies, lotus, iris as well as bog plants. Aquatic planting media will not change pH or color of the pond water. Will not float or cloud the pond water when plants are moved, fertilized, or disturbed by fish. Will not clog filters or pumps. Securely anchors the plants in the pot without using heavy clay soil. Allows water to slowly move through the root zone, carrying nutrients from the pond to the plant roots. Makes it easy to divide and repot aquatic lants every year.
